Cheryl "Cheri" Ann Hormann

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Cheryl "Cheri" Ann Hormann of Cologne, Minnesota. She died at age 59 on April 23rd, 2024. Cheri passed away surrounded by her loved ones after her long and courageous battle with multiple sclerosis (MS). Cheri was born in Wheaton, Minnesota on January 13th, 1965, the daughter of Melvin and Marilyn Behrens. Cheri had a wonderful childhood growing up on the family farm just outside of Graceville, Minnesota. She attended Graceville High School and eventually attended Moorhead Technical College where she got her degree to become a medical secretary. Cheri worked as an operations coordinator at Medica for over 20 years. Cheri was dedicated and passionate about her work and developed many friendships throughout her career. Cheri married Jon Hormann on November 26th, 1988 and eventually had two loving sons, Parker and Peyton. There was no greater joy for Cheri than raising her family and creating a wonderful childhood for her boys. Cheri enjoyed bringing her sons to the farm where she grew up, passing on traditions and creating special memories. Cheri also cherished her pets throughout the years and had a very strong connection with her dog, Rocky, who spent the last 10 years of Cheri's life snuggling by her side. Cheri was described as a leader in her family and enjoyed planning family get-togethers for the extended family to spend time with each other and make new memories. Cheri was a wonderful wife, daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and friend. Cheri's spirit lives on in the hearts of those who knew her. Cheri is survived by her mother, Marilyn Behrens; husband, Jon Hormann; children, Parker (Donna) Hormann and Peyton (Hailey McCaul) Hormann; grandsons, Hamilton and Oliver Hormann; siblings, David (Valerie) Behrens and Brian (Jodi) Behrens, many other relatives, as well as friends. Cheri is preceded in death by her father, Melvin Behrens. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 30th at 11am at the Washburn-McReavy Funeral Chapel in Edina, Minnesota. Visitation will be held at 10am, one hour prior to the service, at the funeral chapel. A reception will be held after the service at Jon's home in Cologne, Minnesota.
