Cecilia M. Christopherson

Cecilia Marie “Landers” Christopherson, age 82 of Mounds View, peacefully passed away surrounded by her loved ones on January 18, 2018. Born to Daniel and Alma (Figg) Landers in Akron Ohio. The family later moved to Morris MN where Cecilia grew up on the family farm. She was the oldest of 7 children. One of Cecilia’s greatest jobs was to watch over the younger children. This was something she took very seriously. When Cecilia got her drivers license, she had to “haul them all over “. But Cecilia never minded as she watched over them all her life. Cecilia graduated from Alberta High School in 1953. She later moved to Minneapolis with her sister Lucy. She married Richard Christopherson on January 12, 1957. They had one son, Todd. Cecilia worked at Title Insurance that was later re named Old Republic, up to her retirement in 1997 at the age of 62. After retirement she enjoyed traveling, quilting, listening to her beloved MN Twins and spending time with her family. On top of that she was able to find the time to volunteer over 8500 hours at Unity Hospital. During that time, she crocheted baby bonnets for all the newborns. Over the years her and Dick enjoyed the many fishing trips they took with their son Todd and grandson Chris. Our lives have been enriched and blessed knowing Cecilia (Sal). We have all been touched by her kind and loving soul. She leaves behind, her son Todd (Kim); grandson Chris (Tina); great grandchildren, Jake, Josh, Evan and Kortney; siblings William Landers; Frances (Elroy) Syverson; Mary (Dale) Gratz; Johnny (Bev) Landers. Preceded in death by her parents; husband, Richard; Brother Daniel James Landers; sister, Lucy Williamson. Cecilia was very proud of her Irish Heritage and she favored one poem in particular. The Irish Poem: May the road rise up to meet you May the wind be always at your back May the sunshine warm upon your face The rains fall soft upon your fields And until we meet again May God hold you in the palm of His hand. Visitation Thursday Jan. 25 from 5-8PM at Washburn-McReavy Coon Rapids Chapel, 1827 Coon Rapids Blvd., Coon Rapids, MN. Mass of Christian Burial Friday, Jan. 26, 10:30AM with visitation one hour prior to Mass at St. Joseph of the Lakes Catholic Church, 171 Elm St., Lino Lakes, MN. Graveside service Saturday, Jan. 27, 1PM at Calvary Cemetery in Morris, MN.
