Catherine Schurstein and Addison Burns

Catherine “Cathy” Ann Schurstein, 38, and her unborn child Addison Burns unexpectedly departed this world the evening of May 14th, 2016. Cathy was born in Minneapolis, MN, minutes before her loving twin sister, Deborah, to Charles and Mary Schurstein on March 29th, 1978. Cathy and Addison will be deeply missed by her fiancé and Addison’s father, Charles Burns, her parents, Charles and Mary, mother in-law and Addison’s Grandmother Cynthia Burns, sisters, Addison's aunts and uncles, Janet Johnson (Craig), Debbie Schurstein (Dennis) and Margaret Schliesing (Jon), sister in-law and aunts Christina and Julianne, Cathy’s grandmother (great) Margaret Schurstein, nephews and niece, Addison’s cousins; Andrew, Jordan, Alexander, Tabari, Emily, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Addison, forever loved and deeply missed, could not have had a better mother in Cathy. Cathy was a joy to all who knew her, truly a gentle soul. Her kindness was present in everything she did, from sharing her life with family and friends to the kindness she showed patients at the Veterans Clinic where she was employed. Cathy had just completed a bachelor’s degree in Health Care Management and looked forward to a promising career in which she would be able to share her love and kindness through her work. They will both be greatly missed by family, friends and co-workers and the world is a darker place without them. Proceeded in death and welcomed with open arms by, Addison’s Grandfather Charles Burns Jr., uncles (great) John and Steve Murtaugh, grandparents (great) Cecil and Mary Murtaugh and Dr. Jerome Schurstein, Great Grandparents to Addison; Charles Sr. and Susan Burns and David and Elsa Connelly. The Brain Aneurysm Foundation is the family's preferred charity for memorials, http://baf.convio.net/site/TR/Events/General?px=1065050&pg=personal&fr_id=1040 Interment Hillside Cemetery. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday May 24, 2016, 2:00PM at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 4030 Jackson St. NE, Columbia Heights, with visitation one hour prior. Visitation will also be held Monday May 23, 2016 5-8PM at Washburn-McReavy Columbia Heights Chapel, 4101 Central Ave. NE, Columbia Heights.
