Carolyn June Syverson

Carolyn June (nee Templin) Syverson Carolyn (Carrie) June Syverson, age 85, died on January 25, 2024, at her home at Valley Ridge Senior Living, from a severe stroke that took place on Wednesday, January 17, 2024. Carolyn was born on June 12, 1938, to Carl and Cordelia (Scheele) Templin in Hamburg, MN. She graduated from New Ulm High School in 1956. On June 1, 1957, she married Charles Syverson. Together, they had three children, Pamela, Tamera, and Jay. She was a devoted "Nana" and enjoyed watching her granddaughters in their sports activities while they were young. As they grew up, she felt honored to be part of each of their weddings. Her girls blessed her with nine great-grandchildren whom she loved. Mom was a hard worker and had many jobs throughout her life. At times, she worked more than one job to raise her children on her own. Her most significant job was working in the electrical department at Thermo King Corporation in Bloomington. There, she had many friends and co-workers. She retired from Thermo King on July 1, 1998, with 30 years of service. She was a long-time member of St. Michael's Lutheran Church where she was involved in bible study groups and the Ladies Guild. She cherished her travels to the "Holy Land" with a group from her church. As many know, Mom was very active in Shaklee and loved sharing the benefits of eco-friendly cleaners and nutritional supplements with others. Since she loved to cook, nobody ever left her house hungry. Baking and canning kept her busy throughout the years. Her pumpkin bars and garlic dill pickles were legendary. Gardening and tending to her flowers were also some of her passions. Every year, it was a major feat to fill her patio with flowers. She was a lifelong Minnesota Twins fan and had all the "Homer Hankies." She loved her "Twinkies." She is survived by her brother, Harlan (Janet) Templin (Tucson, AZ), children, Pamela Syverson (Aurora, CO), Tammy (Robbie) Rimer (Dent, MN), and Jay (Michele) Syverson (Apple Valley, MN), granddaughters, Tasha (Jay) Bolivar, Jennifer (Bobby) Cook, Nicole (Chris) Waldemar, Stephanie (Doug) Molitor, and Carly (Tyler) Lewellen, great-grandchildren, Elliot and Ian Bolivar, RJ, Brady, and Mackenzie Cook, Emma and Ava Waldemar, and Norah and Hazel Lewellen, and nieces/nephew, Debi, Stacey, Darcy, Tracy, Robin, and her "favorite" Clay Jon. She is preceded in death by her parents Carl and Cordelia Templin, sister Joycelyn Templin, brothers-in-law Jim and Rich Syverson, sister-in-law Donna Syverson, and nephew Ford Templin. Visitation: Thursday, February 8th from 4-7 at Washburn-McReavy located at 2300 W, Old Shakopee Road, Bloomington, MN. Funeral Service: Friday, February 9th at St. Michael's Lutheran Church located at 9201 Normandale Boulevard, Bloomington, MN at 10:00 am with a viewing one hour before the service.
