Carol Ann Tungseth

Carol Ann Tungseth, 82 of Otsego, MN passed away peacefully in her sleep during the early morning hours on Tuesday August 1, 2023 after a year long battle with cancer. She is survived by her beloved daughter, Paula (Bob) Cotter; both her adored grandsons, Christopher (Korri) Hellen and Joshua (Cassie) Cotter, her sweet granddaughter, Veronica; special step-grandsons, Robert & Nathan Cotter; and cherished great-grandchildren, Payton & Paige Hellen, and Cash Cotter. She is preceded in death, and met at the gates of Heaven, by her father, Charles; mother, Alma; sisters, Carmen and Nancy; and her husband, Barry. Carol was born October 5, 1940 to parents, Charles (Charlie) and Alma Engleman. Raised in the sweet town of Edina, MN where she rode horse with her dad and swam in the local rivers and streams. She often rode the train downtown MPLS to shop her favorite store, Macys. She graduated from Southwest High school and sailed on to obtain her Bachelors graduate degree, later in life, from the highly regarded University of Minnesota in 1989. Marrying the love of her life, Barry F. Tungseth in the glistening winter of 1991. They began their journey in Brooklyn Park, MN while their dream home was constructed in Carol's vision and through Barry's skilled craftsmanship hands. There, in Montgomery, MN on a stunning 40 acres and surrounded by an abundance of mature trees, they indulge many years of tranquility living the peaceful pastoral life, whilst creating beautiful memories with their blended family; Memories that will be cherished for a lifetime to come by her loved ones . To know Carol, was to know she was an avid lover of music and found herself as a valued member of the orchestrated Alive and Kickin' band as well as a country music band where she performed in local shows. While finding her "voice", she met many of beloved friends along the way. To see her in action was a wonder and a real treat! You were able to see the world through Carol's beautiful stories of her abundant travels both domestic and abroad. She made sure to keep her mind in tip top shape and was filled to the brim with unmatched wisdom. As a God fearing woman, she read the word for daily affirmations and lived her life in her God's vision. She was not afraid to die because she knew exactly where she was going, and her God favored her faithfulness. On this 1st day of August, a rational God showed up to take Carol's precious soul away from her Earthly pains and woes, fulfilling His promise in which she devoutly believed, that He would carry her beyond linear time and straight through those coveted pearly gates of Heaven. Blessed be the day that our beloved Carol, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, has finally found her way home. Services for Carol will be held on Wednesday August 9, 2023 at Westwood Lutheran Church in St. Louis Park, MN. Services will commence at 11 AM followed by a luncheon. Carol will be laid to rest at her final resting place by her immediate family for an intimate burial and final good-bye at a later date.
