Carol Sue Bayert

On Tuesday, July 14th, 2020, Carol Sue (Webb) Bayert, wife of Mark and mother of five children, died at the age of 84 at her home in Bloomington, MN. Carol was born June 14, 1936 in Collinsville, IL to Vivian and Richard Webb. She earned her Associates Degree from Black Hawk College in Moline, IL and completed extended coursework in legal studies at Sangamon State University in Springfield, IL. Carol, a “born therapist,” worked for more than 35 years in Juvenile & Adult Probation and Social Work earning certifications and awards throughout her career. Her love of children, healthy families, and giving back to those in need were at the forefront of her profession and personal life. Carol loved spending time outdoors feeding and listening to the birds, tending her flower gardens, reading books, watching movies and puzzling in front of a fire. She adored music, her faith and her friendships. She was a member of Oak Grove Presbyterian Church where she served as an Ordained Elder and Pastor’s wife. Carol was known for her amazing cooking and baking skills (especially her fried chicken), her creativity, quick wit & humor; her zest for life; and her love for family and friends. Carol is survived by her three daughters Beth Frey of Davenport, IA; Diane (John) Griffin of Colorado Springs, CO; and Eve (Keith) Miller of St. Cloud, MN; grandchildren Amy (Brian) Clark, Jeff (Erin) Frey, Mary (Corby) Frey, Amanda (Cory) LeVan, Adam Soady, Hailey Soady, Brooke (Yuri) Hardt, Kayla (Joel) Schnierle, Lauren (Edward) Bacalane, Isabella Miller & Claire Miller; and great-grandchildren Jack, Alyssa & Kaitlyn Clark; Cole & Camryn Frey, Emily & Collin LeVan and Sophia Soady. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers David Webb & Richard Webb III, husband Mark Bayert, children Linda Adler and Ken Soady, daughter-in-law Marsha Soady, and granddaughter Annika Fakas. We would like to express a heartfelt thank you to her “Bloomington Angels” – friends and neighbors who stopped by to see her, brought her goodies or mowed the lawn. Also, to the Allina Health Hospice team; specifically, her nurse Karen; for giving Mom such beautiful care, love and comfort in her final weeks.
