Bonita "Bonnie" May Mackay (Kroll) January 11, 1959 - January 23, 2026 Bonita "Bonnie" May Mackay, 67, of Arden Hills, passed away suddenly on January 23, 2026. A beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Bonnie was a woman of rare determination, a fierce competitor, and a heart overflowing with love for her family. Born on January 11, 1959, Bonnie's vibrant spirit was evident early on. While attending the Minnesota State Academy for the Deaf in Faribault, she was a standout athlete, earning multiple all-team awards in team sports. Her charisma and kindness were equally recognized by her peers, who crowned her Homecoming Queen. She carried that same grit and excellence into her professional life, achieving a rare feat in the modern world: a 45-year career at CHS. Facing the adversities of being Deaf with a pursuit of perfection and an unmatched work ethic, Bonnie retired in early 2025, leaving behind a legacy of resilience and excellence. While her career was a point of pride, the true highlight of Bonnie's life was every single minute spent with her grandchildren. Whether they were lost in arts and crafts, baking in the kitchen, or playing endless rounds of hide-and-seek, Bonnie lived in their laughter and their abundance of hugs. There was never a doubt that the children were her ultimate pride and joy. Bonnie shared 37 years of marriage with her husband, Michael, and loved nothing more than the company of her friends and family. She strived for the best in everything she did, and in love, she gave her family; she truly achieved perfection. Bonnie was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Robert J. Kroll and Ethel E. Kroll, and her stepson, Ethan Stenman. She will be deeply missed by her husband, Michael; her son, David (Thanh) Mackay; and her stepsons, Elijah (Kari) Stenman and Christopher (Angela) Stenman. She was the adored grandmother of Adeline (7) and Daphne (5), and step-grandmother of Calie, Collin, Jonas, Dillan, Joren, Carissa, Alurea, and Theo. She is also survived by her siblings: DuWayne (Jeanne) Kroll, Pamela (Robert) Kunnzmann, Michael (Jane) Kroll, and John (Leslie) Kroll, as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, dear friends, and neighbors. Services will be held at 10:30 AM on Thursday, January 29, 2026, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church (835 2nd Ave NW, New Brighton). Visitation will begin one hour prior at 9:30 AM. Interment to follow at Washburn-McReavy Hillside Funeral Chapel & Cemetery (2610 19th Ave NE, Minneapolis).
