Betty Lou Bingham

Bingham, Betty Lou Age 94 died peacefully on December 22, 2023 surrounded by family at Lakeside Care Center in Dassel MN, formerly of Norwood Young America MN. Funeral Service, Friday January 5th, 2024 at 11:00am with visitation one hour prior. Officiating service Rev. Matt Schroeder of All Saints Lutheran Church, 511 Merger St. NYA MN 55368. Betty Lou was born in Minneapolis MN on Febuary 4, 1929. The daughter of Alfred George Andrews and Helen Inga (Parness) Andrews. She graduated from South High School. Betty Lou started working at Ohleen Dairy at age 16 stuffing envelopes and working the switch board, she then worked in bookkeeping. The company then became Northland - Foremost and Betty was the credit union manager. A few years later it became Kemps and she retired there at the age of 65. Betty Lou married Donald Bingham, September 1, 1950 at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Minneapolis. They were married 64 years before Donald's passing in 2015. They had 3 children and raised their family on "the island" in Mound on Lake Minnetonka. They retired in Florida for the winters. They traveled to Spain and did a few cruises. Betty Lou was proud of her Norwegian heritage and enjoyed making her special Swedish pancakes. She taught Sunday school at Holy Trinity and was superintendent. She was a Girl Scout leader for years, member of the Lyn - Lake Lions club and later became a member of the Norwood Young America Lions. She was a member of the Larkspur flower club, the Red hat club and various card clubs. She enjoyed quilting, knitting, making prayer shawls, playing cribbage, cards and Bingo. The card game SkipBo was her favorite the last few years. She enjoyed taking the grandchildren to Branson & Wisconsin Dells also to McDonalds & swimming. Betty Lou is survived by her Children. Daughters, Deborah (Gary) Sandell, Annette (Lora Bellin) Bingham; son, David (Ranee) Bingham; grandchildren, Michael (Jessica) Sandell, Morgan (Elena Nicholoff) Sandell, Jacki (Andria) Ites, Justin (Doug Lee) Fritz, Megan (Brandon) Hoen, Dylan Bingham, Girlfriend (Hayley Haas) & Colin Bingham; great-grandchildren, Blake Sandell, Hannah Sandell, Mackenzie Bingham, Boyfriend (Daniel Jourdan), Michaela Nylund & Ella Nylund; Honorary Daughter, Emily Toth, Nieces, nephews, relatives & friends Urn Bearers, Grandchildren & Great- Grandchildren.
