Barbara Ann Dane Noecker October 23, 1954 - November 20, 2023 A loving wife, a marvelous mom, a proud grandmother, the best sister, a great friend, and a committed volunteer, Barbara Ann was the fourth of five children born to Raymond and Geraldine Dane of Lake Crystal, MN. Growing up in a small town, she developed life-long friendships. She remembered many summer days walking to the library and playing outside with her sister, brother, and neighborhood friends. Barb learned the importance of hard work cooking each Saturday with her mom and she learned the give and take of family living in a one-bathroom house with her parents and four siblings. She carried a life-long love for great friends, good books and special times at the movie theater. She graduated from Lake Crystal High School in 1973 and attended Winona State University, studying Library Science for two years. In 1975 she married the love of her life, Randy Noecker. Together, they had three children. They moved from Mankato to the Twin Cities and started a real estate business. Barb loved being a mom. She enjoyed staying at home with her kids and providing daycare for her nephews. An avid reader, she read many books to her young children, nephews, and grandchildren. As her kids grew she took joy in each baseball game, theater performance, and band concert. The light of her love shined the brightest during her teenage daughter's journey with cancer. She spent many, many hours holding and caring for her six grandkids. She enjoyed seeing them together and watching their talents grow. Barb was a great gift-giver and took delight in knowing what other people liked. She excelled at finding the right gifts for people. She gave the gift of her time as well, spending many hours volunteering at Children's Hospital, Global Volunteers, and Children's Surgery International. Barb was able to travel more as her children grew. She and Randy stopped at historic towns and sites on their annual drives to Florida. Her favorite town outside of Minnesota was Fort Meyers Beach and she always looked forward to the sunshine and sand. She passed away early on the morning of November 20, after a 27-month-long journey with colon cancer. She will be truly missed. Barb is survived by husband of 48 years, Randall Noecker. Children Shane (Rebecca) Noecker, Trent (Carina) Noecker, and Courtney (Zach) Schubert. Her six grandkids Whitman and Fitzgerald Noecker, Ruth Noecker, and Tullian, Violet and Sabina Schubert. Her siblings, Mary Ann (Gary) Endersbe, Judy (Pat) Whalen, Bill (Peggy Russell) Dane. Sister-in-law, Carla (Tom) Glesner, as well as her special nephews and nieces. And her two best friends, LeAnne (Mark) Miller and Kathy Wilking. She is preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Geraldine Dane, and her brother, Steve Dane. A Celebration of her Life will be held on Sunday, November 26th at 2:00 PM (visitation 1-2 PM) at Holcomb-Henry-Boom-Purcell Funeral Home; 515 Highway 96 W., Shoreview. Memorials preferred in lieu of flowers to Children's [Hospital] Minnesota.
