Audrey Ruth Ziebol

In Loving Memory of Audrey Ruth Ziebol Audrey Ruth Ziebol, 88, of Minneapolis, MN, passed away peacefully in her sleep on May 19, 2026. Born in Minneapolis, MN, she was the fourth of seven children. She graduated from St. Cloud Technical High School in 1956, and the Swedish Hospital School of Nursing in 1959. She married her high school sweetheart, Jim Ziebol, in 1959, and together they had two children, five grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. Audrey had a long and dedicated career as the head nurse at North Memorial Medical Center, followed by Surgicare of Minneapolis. Audrey loved life and embraced her passions. She enjoyed camping and traveling with family and friends, creating many fond memories at El Rancho Manana, various cabins throughout MN, and on extensive US and international trips. Audrey also had a passion for quilting, bridge, entertaining, coffee, shopping for bargains, stoking the campfire, Stephen King books, and her family. She held cherished memories of the Thomas Ave neighborhood, Wooddale Church, and the many friends she made along the way. Generous. Caring. Loving. Good. Grandma. Daring. Radiant. Unconditional. Inspirational. Spirited. Awesome. Funny. Indomitable. Tenacious. Cherished. Gentle. Kind. Welcoming. Loved. Traveler. Compassionate. When asked to pick a word that best described Audrey, these were the responses offered by her family members-each word having deep meaning to those who knew her. Audrey was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, James (Jim) Ziebol; her parents, James and Ruth Nicholson; and her siblings, Nancy Brausen, Joan Ellens, James Nicholson, and Patricia Chilgren. She is survived by her children, Lori Larson (Dave Tatge) and Bob Ziebol (Lois); grandchildren, Cody Larson (Caitlyn Borek), Matthew Ziebol (Katie), Kyle Larson (Anas Zaza), Benjamin Ziebol, and Katherine Ziebol; great-grandchildren, Lucas Larson, Evelyn Ziebol, Henry Ziebol, Owen Larson, Anna Ziebol, and Logan Ziebol; her siblings, Robert Nicholson (Mary) and Shirley Fohner; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate staff at North Oaks Memory Care and Caretenders Hospice for their exceptional care. Visitation will be held at 10:00 AM, with a funeral service at 11:00 AM, on Saturday, May 30, at Washburn-McReavy Funeral Chapel, 5000 W 50th St, Edina, MN. A lunch will immediately follow. A private family burial will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery at a later date. Memorials may be made to the MS Society of Minnesota.
