It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Aubrey "Toby" Dutton, who left this world on December 16th, 2024, at the age of 86. Toby was a beloved husband, grandfather, brother and friend. Known for his warm heart, his boundless energy, his deep love for life, and the generosity he extended to all those fortunate enough to know him. Born on September 1st, 1938 in St. Paul. Toby's adventurous spirit and strong sense of duty led him to enlist in the United States Navy, where he proudly served for 11 years. His time in the Navy shaped his character, instilling in him a sense of discipline, loyalty, and camaraderie that stayed with him throughout his life. Toby's love for the sea remained constant, and he was an avid sailor who found peace and joy on the water, whether navigating open lakes or simply relaxing with friends and family on a calm afternoon. After leaving the Navy, Toby pursued a career that would define his life for over five decades; he became a barber. Toby had an extraordinary passion for his craft, and he took great pride in making people look and feel their best. For more than 50 years, he served his community, building long lasting relationships with his clients and becoming a trusted friend to many. Toby's Styling Shop was a place where stories were shared, laughter echoed, and his sharp skills were always met with a smile. He loved every moment of his work, and his dedication to his craft never wavered. Toby was a man who believed in the importance of family, friendship, and hard work. He lived his life with an open heart, always willing to lend a hand or a listening ear. Whether he was behind the barber's chair, out on a boat, working on a project or spending time with his loved ones, Toby made a lasting impact on everyone he met. His legacy is one of warmth, generosity, and a deep appreciation for the simple joys of life. Toby is survived by his wife Jan Dutton, grandchildren Natalie (Daniel) Storrar and Grace Hedger. He was preceded in death by his daughter Laurie Dutton. A celebration of Toby's life will be held at Washburn McReavy Nokomis Park Chapel, where we will come together to honor a man who lived fully, loved deeply, and left an indelible mark on the world. Toby's memory will forever live on in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten. Fair winds and following seas, Toby-you will always be loved.
