Arthur "Art" Ingberg

Arthur "Art" Eugene Ingberg, age 89 of Rogers, MN, passed away peacefully on March 11, 2024. He was born on April 18, 1934, the 2nd of 8 children, to Andrew and Ethel Ingberg, of Pine River, Minnesota. Art spent many years as a truck driver for Briggs and Roadway. He was a regular participant in Truck Roadeos and won numerous awards including 1st place in the state championship and 2nd place in the 1976 national Roadeo. He also won the Howie Johnson Memorial Award for "Most Professional Truck Driver". He had many hobbies and interests that were shared by his large family. This included deer and bear hunting trips in Northern Minnesota and the state of Wyoming; ice fishing on Lake Mille Lacs and The Lake of the Woods and snowmobiling. He also enjoyed spending time at the cabin in Detroit Lakes and in Pine River with his siblings and their families. He and his brother Bud built and flew a powered parachute. Art and Marilynn were long-time members of the Gustavus II Adolphus Society (GIIA) Swedish Club where they both served as treasurers. Art was also an avid handyman and created beautiful works of stained glass. Art enjoyed the outdoors, and often could be found perfecting his lush green lawn and tending to his many plants and flowers. He was a master at the grill where he served family burgers with slices of his homegrown tomatoes, legendary homemade baked beans and his all-time favorite apple pie. He and Marilynn enjoyed many trips to locations including Norway, Germany, England, Spain, Italy, Holland, Ireland, Scotland, France and Hawaii. A couple memorable trips were also taken to Sweden where they visited the homes where his dad and Marilynn's mom lived as children. Art and Marilynn (Buck) were married on August 7th, 1971. Together, they shared 7 children - Scott (Carol) Ingberg, Wendy (Gary) Himle, Bonnie (Bruce) Listul, Kerry Ingberg, Andrew Ingberg, Steve (Karen) Long and Andrea Long. Art is preceded in death by his son Andrew and daughter Kerri, parents, and brother George. He is survived by his wife of over 52 years, Marilynn, 5 children, 14 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, 6 great-great grandchildren, 5 sisters, 1 brother and many nieces and nephews. Memorial service will be held Friday, March 22, at 11 AM visitation starting at 10 AM at the United Methodist Church of Anoka (UMCA), 850 South Street, Anoka, MN 55303. In lieu of flowers, donations preferred to UMCA, which will be used to support community outreach programs including ACBC Food Shelf, Meals on Wheels, and Hope for Youth.
