ARDYCE MILDRED ANDERSON February 8, 1932 - October 23, 2023 Ardyce (Ardy) Mildred Johnson passed away peacefully on Monday, October 23, 2023, at Covenant Living of Golden Valley. She was born on February 8, 1932 to Gustav and Amy Johnson in rural Garfield, MN. The family was actively involved in Lake Chippewa Covenant Church for many years. Ardy attended school at District 17, a rural one room schoolhouse for Grades 1-8. She completed high school in Alexandria, MN, followed by two years at North Park Jr. College in Chicago, IL; then received her BS in Medical Technology at the University of Minnesota. Ardy's first job was at Swedish Covenant Hospital in Chicago, IL. During those years, she met Duane Anderson, a North Park College student, from Rockford, IL. They were married June 16, 1956, in Garfield, MN. Ardy & Duane's married life was spent in Rockford, IL. They were members of Bethesda Covenant Church in Rockford, where Ardy sang in the choir and was active in many service organizations. Ardy and Duane had two sons, Kyle and Dirk. The family created many great memories at their cottage on Lac Courte Oreilles near Hayward, WI. Duane passed away unexpectedly in November, 1991. In October of 2007, Ardy moved to Covenant Living of Golden Valley, MN, where she lived until her death. Her pastimes included singing in choirs, service activities, reading, baking her famous chocolate chip cookies and her beautiful quilting. The family wishes to thank her friends and the staff at Covenant Living where she enjoyed living the last 16 years. She was predeceased by her parents and husband, Duane, as well as two sisters, Marion Elness and Muriel Visness, and one brother, Ron Johnson. She is survived by her sons, Kyle (Vicki) Anderson of Hayward, WI and Dirk (Kristin Fox) Anderson of Ft Myers, FL; grandsons, Christopher (Krissy Langley) Anderson and Ryan (Karly) Anderson and precious great-granddaughter, Olivia Anderson. She is also survived by one brother, Dwight Johnson, as well as several nieces and nephews. A service in celebration of her life will be held on Friday, November 3, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. in the Fellowship Center at Covenant Living of Golden Valley, 5800 St. Croix Ave N, Golden Valley, MN 55422. Visitation will be from 10:30 am. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Benevolent Fund at Covenant Living of Golden Valley. (This fund supports the capability of current residents to stay at the facility when they have exhausted their own funds.)
