Ann Liemandt Cronin

Ann Liemandt Cronin of Edina, MN passed away peacefully on August 29th, 2020 at the age of 83. She is preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Carlton (Rick) Cronin, Jr., who also passed just three months ago. Ann brought an abundance of joy into this world. She loved life, her family, her many friends and her community. She nurtured a tender and loving relationship with her six children and each of her 13 grandchildren that was unique to each of them. Ann is survived by her children Nick and Annie Cronin (Luke, Grace, Kevin [Shelby]); Sheila Cronin (Tom, and Joe Bornfleth); Jim and Sarah Cronin (Zac); Matt Cronin and Maureen Sullivan (Carlton, Peter, and Amanda Cronin, Killian, Bennett, Gavin and Murphy Brackey); Bridget and Ralph Lionetti (Cecelia); Molly and David Clark (Patrick, Katherine, and Georgia). She is also survived by her sister Sue Moran and sister in law Diane Liemandt-Reimann . In addition to her husband Rick, Ann is preceded in death by her brother Greg (Joe) Liemandt and her parents Marie and Clarence (Bud) Liemandt. As matriarch of the Cronin family, Ann was known and respected for holding high standards and living Christian values. She was clear about her expectations and principles and she made it her life’s work to see these reflected in her family’s upbringing and impact in the world. Her appreciation for beauty and her eye for creating spaces, gardens and meaningful moments was unmatched. She was a master at spotting the diamond in the rough. The legacy of Ann’s generous and compassionate heart has been felt throughout our community, however what brought her the most happiness were the many unseen acts of kindness she extended spontaneously to those she encountered each day. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be sent to Benilde Saint Margaret’s School (2501 MN-100, St Louis Park, MN 55416). There will be a visitation, for both Ann and Rick, on Wednesday, September 9th, at Washburn McReavy Edina Chapel from 4-7pm. Mask and social distancing will be required.
