Anita Noraine Winegarden

Winegarden, Anita (Tabbert) Age 97, peacefully passed into eternity on August 13, 2025. Certain of her salvation, she heard Jesus' voice and followed Him home. She is preceded in death by her loving husband Robert Wineagrden, and brothers, W.G. Tabbert, Curtis Tabbert, Norris Tabbert, and Robert Tabbert. Survived by her children, Jerry (Cindy) Winegarden, Steve (Denise) Winegarden, Tom (Kay Tani) Winegarden, Janae (Bob Thompson) Winegarden, Carmen (Jeff) Nesheim; twelve grandchildren; twenty-one great grandchildren; brother, Lee Tabbert; and many loving family members. Anita was born on June 25, 1928 in Sioux Falls, SD to Nels and Alma Tabbert. Anita attended school in Egan, SD. She continued her education attending Yankton College where she met the love of her life, Robert Winegarden, and they were married in April 1949. The couple had five children and moved to St. Louis Park, MN. Anita was a full-time mom and a full-time supporter of her children. Summer travels to South Carolina chasing Bob's master's degree brought them to Myrtle Beach and Anita discovered her passion for the beach. Due to a serious allergy with soap, Anita found Amway laundry soap and started her own sales business. Anita beliWeved she could help make a difference for others and began helping neighbors, friends, and family. Together with Bob, they built a very successful business. Their dream grew as they were thinking ahead to when their five kids would be in college at the same time. Anita's enthusiasm was infectious contributing to her becoming a successful leader. After Bob retired from teaching, they began wintering in Surprise, AZ creating many memories in the desert. After Bob's death, Anita moved into Trillium Woods Retirement Community in Plymouth, MN. Anita continued to dedicate her life to supporting their 12 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. With almost unlimited energy, she poured out her love on them. Anita loved life and lived it to the fullest up until her last few days. She loved animals, especially her white cat, Angel. Anita had a passion for watching sports of all kinds. She spent countless hours cheering on her kids', grandkids', and great-grandkids' sporting and other events, and was one of their most dedicated and greatest fans. She loved dancing, especially at Trillium. She enjoyed socializing and bringing fun to a party by wearing costumes along with lots of joy. When celebrating her birthday, she insisted she was only 21 and fondly became known as "Forever 21." Anita whole-heartedly embraced the Trillium Woods community with extraordinary love, laughter, compassion, and caring for others. She was kind and generous with her time, becoming an inspiration to many, honoring each person in her own special way. She will be missed by all who knew her, but especially her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Anita has left an amazing legacy. We are so blessed to have had her with us so long. A funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, Aug 20 at 11 AM at Mt Olivet Lutheran Church, 5025 Knox Ave S, Mpls. Service will be live-streamed at https://mtolivet.org/live Visitation will be on Tuesday, Aug. 19, from 4-7 PM at Washburn-McReavy Funeral Chapel, 5000 W 50th St., Edina Chapel, and one hour prior to the service at Mt Olivet. Interment at Lakewood Cemetery.
