Allen Matthew Holles

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Allen Holles, a devoted husband, cherished father, beloved grandfather (Papa), brother, brother-in-law, uncle and treasured friend, who peacefully left us on April 2, 2025 at the age of 80 surrounded by family, following a battle with kidney disease. Born on September 20, 1944 in Sioux City Iowa, and residing in Coon Rapids, Minnesota. Allen was a man of deep faith, with a compassionate heart, and a gentle spirit. A loving husband to Sheri for 36 years, their bond was a testament to enduring love and partnership. Together, they built a home filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable memories. He was a steady presence, always ready with a warm smile, wise advice, or a comforting hug. He loved his family deeply and showed it in countless ways, big and small. He found joy in the simple things; a good book on his patio, the sound of laughter at breakfast or lunch with his grandkids, listening to his AM/FM radio, and eating pizza with everyone. Watching his grandkids play sports brought him immeasurable pride, and he never missed a chance to cheer from the sidelines or celebrate a win with a warm smile, big hug and sometimes a trip to Dairy Queen. Allen also loved to watch women's college basketball and following the Minnesota Twins. He is survived by wife Sheri, his children Susan (Dan) Griffin, Sarah (Todd) Matthies, Scott (Laura) Zachmann, and Chad (Katie) Zachmann. Grandchildren Brittney, Jackson, Kenzie, Tessa, Charlee, Mason, Maddie, Matthew, Carter, and Brooke. Siblings Karen Leach, Glen Holles, Wayne (Joan) Holles, Mark (Linda) Holles, Kathy (Tom) Hamilton, sister-in-law Connie Holles and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents Arthur and Mary Holles, his niece Kimmy Holles, nephew Jeff Holles, sister-in-law Carol Holles, brother-in-law Cliff Leach and younger brother Don Holles. Allen leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and cherished memories. Though he will be deeply missed, his spirit lives on in the hearts of all who knew him. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, April 22nd at 11am with visitation one hour prior to Mass at St. Stephen's Catholic Church, 525 Jackson St, Anoka, MN 55303. Memorial preferred to the National Kidney Foundation of MN or Allina Hospice and Palliative Care.
