Alice Louise Flint

On May 14, 2025 at 10:31pm, Jesus Christ called Alice Louise Flint home and she peacefully accepted. Alice was born Oct. 28, 1946 in Hibbing, MN to Boyd and Inez (Whalen) McNulty. They brought her home to Coleraine, with her twin brother Charlie, where they were greeted by three older brothers. Eventually three more girls and one more boy would join their family. The family moved to Hoyt Lakes, MN in October of 1957. Alice graduated high school from Aurora-Hoyt Lakes High School and graduated college from UMD. At both schools, she met lifelong friends. Friends who would be with her in fun times, hard times, adventurous times, creating memories and shaping each other for the better. Her daughter, Kim (Mel) Larsen, arrived in 1969. In the eyes of her daughter, she was a heroic and self giving parent. Teaching her to do the hard thing, go against the grain sometimes, and hang on to the Lord through it all. She had a fierce faith, a true love for the Lord. Alice and Kim eventually settled in the Twin Cities where she met her future husband. Alice married Herman Flint on Nov. 2, 1991, it was a small intimate occasion due to the historic Blizzard of 91', which much like Alice was a force to be reckoned with. They shared a love for gardening and bird watching. Her camera is filled with pictures of flowers from their garden that caught her eye, or looked especially beautiful that day. Alice and Herman enjoyed several trips together, Tennessee, California, Arizona, and the north shore to name a few. Most of her career, Alice worked as a job placement specialist. However, in 1989 she took a job at Cypress Mining in HR, this is a job she was always proud of and greatly enjoyed. She had a love for trucks and heavy machinery, and her favorite days were the ones she got to go to the mine. After marrying Herman she came back to the cities, settling in Brooklyn Park. She retired from Anoka County, again in job placement, in October of 2011, just a few days before her younger sister, Cathy. I'm sure there was zero competition there. During her career Alice helped countless people and always had a place in her heart for those in need. Preceding Alice in death are her husband Herman, parents Boyd and Inez, brothers Bion, Pat, and Albert, sister Joan Willett as well as Joan's husband Russ, and her sister-in-law Lori (Charlie) McNulty. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Kim and Mel Larsen, sisters-in-law Anita, Judy, and Karen McNulty, sisters Cathy (John) Hanson, LaVerne Larsen, her twin brother Charlie, and brother Jim (Erin) McNulty. She is also survived by Herman's daughter Janeece and her son Jaydon, 12 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews, all of whom were deeply loved by Alice. Truly.
