Albert "Buz" Raymond Anderson Jr.

Anderson, Albert R. Jr. "Buz" Passed away on June 21, 2023 at St. John's Hospital in Maplewood. He was born on December 13, 1932 to Albert R. Sr. and Helen (Churchward) Anderson. He is survived by wife Joyce and daughters Jill Beck and Diane (Craig) Anderson. Four grandchildren. Magnus, Halden, Emily and Sofia. His brother Jerry Anderson and his wife Judy. Four nephews. Randy (Kathy) Renstrom, Rick (Kelly) Renstrom, Ron (Sheryl) Renstrom, and Jeff (Erin) Anderson. One niece Jeri (Leo) DuRand, and their families. Will also be deeply missed by Joyce's sisters Shirley and Irene (Ken). Twenty nieces and nephews and their families. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Joanne Renstrom and her husband Robert Renstrom. Also by Joyce's 3 brothers and one sister. Al was born and raised in St. Paul. He attended Chelsea Hts. grade school. He was baptized and confirmed at Como Park Lutheran Church. He graduated in 1950 from Murray High School and attended Hamline University, graduating in 1954. He enlisted in the U. S. Army and served 1954-1956; most of the time in Germany. After the military he returned to St. Paul and worked at 3M and then joined the Municipal Bond firm of Juran and Moody, Inc in St. Paul. He worked there for over 40 years. The first 9 years he attended hundreds of city council meetings all around the state, helping them negotiate to purchase bonds for city improvements, etc., then he went into sales. Other than Minnesota, his sales area was NW Iowa and Central Iowa. He made many good friends. He spent some years at the executive level. Later the firm was sold and he retired from Miller, Johnson at the age of 69. Al was a member of St. Paul's Norske Torske Klubben. He enjoyed going to the YMCA. He was a faithful blood donor for many years; being a universal donor, he was often called. Long time member at Incarnation Lutheran Church. He loved to ski, both water and snow, but his very favorite was snow. He loved going out west for mountain skiing. Made his last run here at Wild Mountain on his 88th birthday. Enjoyed traveling in the States and also abroad. This would have been his 85th year spending time at the family cabin north of Brainerd, MN. A favorite destination. Joyce and Al were married in 1966 and lived in Vadnais Heights for 47 years before moving to the Applewood Pointe community in Shoreview 8 years ago. He will be remembered as a gentleman; kind and caring. A wonderful, loving husband, father and grandfather. A friend to all. For God so loved the world that He gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16 Visitation 4-7 PM Thursday, July 6th at Holcomb-Henry-Boom-Purcell, 515 Hwy 96 West, Shoreview. Funeral service 11:00 AM Friday (visitation one hour prior) at Incarnation Lutheran Church, 4880 Hodgson Rd, Shoreview.
