Albert "Bud" Heck

Age 89 of Shoreview Bud was born in St. Paul, MN to Louise and James Heck. He attended St. Cecelia's grade school and DeLaSalle and Murray high schools. After high school he enlisted in the United States Air Force, where he was stationed in Mountain Home, Idaho. His first assigned position was that of a crash ambulance driver and then as a scrub nurse in the O.R. When out of the service he was employed by Deluxe Check Printers, where he worked for over 35 years, starting out as a pressman and ending up as production manager in the Wheeler Avenue plant in St. Paul. He enjoyed his working years at Deluxe and was much respected by his employees. He and Connie were committee members of the Deluxe Retirement Club which gave them many opportunities to travel overseas, state side and to Canada. He was an avid hunter and fisherman enjoying many family trips over the years. Bud was a caring man always concerned about the welfare of others, especially his children and grandchildren. Bud was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease in October 2017. He and Connie were courageous in his fight to continue to live life to the fullest despite the diagnosis. The family was privileged to be able to keep and care for him at home (which was his wish). Survived by his wife of 66 years, Constance; children, James (Shelley), Douglas (Julie) and Mary Jane (Tom) Housh; grandchildren, Thomas (Sara) Housh, Jessica (Joe) Naber, Tara (Ryan) Elks, James (Karissa) Heck, Bill (Meghan) Heck, Daniel Heck and great grandson, Maxwell Naber. Mass of Christian Burial 11:00 AM Tuesday November 10 at St. Odilia Catholic Church, 3495 Victoria Street N., Shoreview (visitation 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM). To Kindred Hospice Care, we are grateful to have had the dedicated support and care of Rachel and Lee. Private interment with honors at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Survived by his wife of 66 years, Constance; children, James (Shelley), Douglas (Julie) and Mary Jane (Tom); Grandchildren, Thomas (Sara), Jessica (Joe), Tara (Ryan), James (Karissa), Bill (Meghan), Daniel and great grandson, Maxwell.
