Harty, Adrienne Frances (Ouellette) Our beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother, Adrienne Frances Harty, passed away Sunday Dec. 3rd, 2023, of natural causes. She is survived by Dr. Jerome Harty, her loving husband of 68 years, daughters Linda and Sue (Malenick), sons, Stephen and David, daughters-in-law Sandy and Esme, grandchildren Zachary (Paige), Jacob (Kait), Annalisa (Burton), Audrey (Griffin), Trevor, Louise (Charlie), Rachel, and great-grandchild, Casper, brother-in-law and sister-in-law, John and Barb, as well as many nieces and nephews plus many friends. Adrienne was born April 2, 1933, to Julia (Amireault) and Phillip Ouellette in Mpls. MN, where she grew up with her two older sisters, Marguerite and Lorraine, along with many aunts and uncles, speaking French at home. She loved her French-Canadian heritage which gave her the Joie de Vie she lived with. Family was the most important thing to her. She and Jerry made a welcoming home filled with love and support, raising their children to be loving positive people. Grandma Adrienne was very involved with the upbringing of her grandchildren, creating the next generation of a loving family. She cared for her mother, "Gram O", until her passing at the age of 108 and carried that loss with her the rest of her life. Adrienne met Jerry on a blind date, at a dance in 1952, set up by his good friend, John Viken. Two weeks later they were "going steady" and soon got engaged. They were married on September 10, 1955, and the dancing never stopped. Jerry's travel bug soon infected Adrienne and they adventured most of the world together with family and friends. They were blessed with many unique experiences of a life well lived! During the cold MN months, you'd find them in Naples, FL, walking the beaches, enjoying sunsets, dining outdoors and loving the swimming pool! Swimming was relaxing exercise and medicinal to Mom. In later years, a morning swim would make the rest of her day better. Adrienne was the consummate hostess. Holiday meals or pool parties, bridge group and dance group, extended family parties and neighborhood get-togethers, groom's dinners and birthday parties, she created menus, cooked fabulous meals, served her hospitality with ease and grace and kept it all organized with meticulous notes. Her guidance will be greatly missed (but we are happy to share Mom's Chocolate Chip Cookie recipe). In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Adrienne's name to Sharing and Caring Hands, 525 North 7th Street, Mpls. MN, 55405 or to St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church. A Celebration Mass will be on Friday, Dec. 15th, 10AM, with visitation prior to service at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 2048 Hamline Ave. N, Roseville. Mass will livestreamed at https://saintroseoflima.net/livestream. Visitation will also be held Thursday, Dec. 14th from 5-7PM at the Washburn~McReavy Hillside Chapel. A private interment will be held at a later date at Fort Snelling Cemetery. Adrienne's favorite color is blue, please wear it if you wish.
