It is with deep sadness and profound love that we announce the passing of Vincent Edward Beacom, who left this world peacefully at the age of 95 on November 24, 2024. Born in Sioux City, Iowa on November 7,1929, Vincent was a remarkable man whose life touched and inspired so many. His story was one of generosity, unwavering faith, and a commitment to family that spanned generations. Vincent was the beloved husband of Lucia Beacom for 73 years of marriage, and the proud parent of four children, Mary Markman, Ann Sunde, Patricia Neumann, and Vincent A. Beacom. He was the cherished grandfather of twelve grandchildren and the fun great-grandfather of twenty great-grandchildren. He was the rock of our family - strategic, supportive, and wise. A man of towering intellect, Vincent was marked by integrity, humility, and a strong work ethic. He had a gift for turning problems into solutions and pulling opposing elements together for a positive outcome - always accompanied by a disarming dose of humor. Vincent was a natural leader and excelled at all he did: working his way through college, he was Captain of his college football team at Iowa State; serving in the US Army during the Korean War, he taught in electrician school; and laboring in public utilities, he rose from climbing poles to EVP of NSP/President of Electric. Vincent was always there with a plan, to lend a hand, share a laugh, or offer a word of encouragement. Whether he was planning and executing your house remodel, or encouraging you to sharpen your moral reasoning skills, he invested in the lives of so many. Vincent was preceded in death by his parents Vincent A. and Anna (Gengler) Beacom, as well as siblings Charlotte, Frank, and Richard. He is survived by his wife, Lucia, his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and brother Miles, each of whom will carry forward the lessons of character and compassion he imparted. The family will hold a celebration of life on Monday, December 2nd at Saint Raphael Catholic Church, 7301 Bass Lake Rd., Crystal, MN, where loved ones can gather to honor and reflect on the incredible life Vincent led. Visitation at 9 a.m., service at 10 a.m. The burial is at Fort Snelling on Tuesday December 3rd at 1:45 p.m in lane 3. Though we mourn the loss of someone so cherished, we find comfort knowing that Vincent's legacy will flourish in the stories we share, the valuable lessons he taught us, his countless blessings for us all, the traditions we carry forward, and the values we hold dear. Rest in peace, Vincent. We are better having known you and will forever treasure you.
