Timothy Allan Wheeler

Wheeler, Timothy A. Age 75 of Burnsville passed away unexpectedly at home on February 5, 2021. Born to Eleanor and Roger Wheeler, Tim grew up in Richfield, where he played football, basketball, and baseball and was inducted into the Richfield Hall of Fame in 1991. He later followed in his father's footsteps with a football scholarship to the University of Minnesota earning an MVP his senior year. As a loyal Gopher football fan, he was a season ticket holder since 1967. Tim loved sports, whether watching, playing or coaching youth sports, especially BAC football, basketball and softball. He was an avid high school sports fan who looked forward to his annual trips with his buddies to the hockey and football state tournaments. Tim enjoyed Guthrie Theater date nights, a cruise to Alaska with friends, and memorable trips with his family. Tim is survived by his loving wife Ginny of nearly 50 years; two devoted daughters, Andrea and Elizabeth (Charlie Litten); two granddaughters, Elleanor and Evelyn; brother, Robert (Teri); sister, Eileen Tamble; sister-in-law, Roxanne Wheeler; Godson, Tom Olson; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Eleanor and Roger; two brothers and sister-in-law, Richard and Roger and Jeanette. From his days as the branch manager of Anacomp to a realtor for Coldwell Banker Burnet, Tim was known for his genuine kindness and attention to detail. His granddaughters treasured their time with Grandpa because he took such interest in their lives and told silly jokes. Tim will be remembered for his quick wit, his legendary stories, his life-long friendships, his devotion to Ginny, and his active role as a father to his own children as well as a father figure to many young people who knew him. Tim was an original. A celebration of life will be held in June.
