Milo Alexander

Milo Joseph Alexander, Phoenix, AZ formerly of Hopkins. - My husband, my friend went home to be with his Lord Feb. 12, 2003 at the age of 84. Born July 1st, 1918 in Clearfield, SD. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Eldora; parents, Frank and Agnes; brother, Frantiscek; sisters, Rose and Mary; son-in-law, John Farrell; and son, Dale. Milo was affectionately known as the "Pontiac Man". He loved to restore old Pontiacs and at one time he had nine of them that he restored himself. He enjoyed driving in the Raspberry Parades and bringing them to car shows, some of which were just his cars. Milo was a proud veteran of World War II and achieved the rank of staff sargeant. He served state side training troops and was a lifetime member of the Disabled Veterans. He often said he would serve again if he was needed. Milo had Alexander's Repair Service for 53 years before he was forced to retire for health reasons. He had many valued customers from all over the Twin Cities area. Among other jobs that he had he worked for Mpls Moline in the power house. He volunteered as a little league baseball coach and help build the MB Hagen Little League Field. He also would repair appliances and bring them up north to the Indian reservations where he would donate them. We will miss listening to his great stories, the laughter, his humor and above all his love and friendship. Survived by wife, Karen Lamkin Alexander; daughters, Milene Alexander of Hopkins, Kathy (Roger) Schaffhausen, Phoenix, AZ, Jennifer (Luis) Gonzalez, Phoenix, AZ; son, Dean Alexander, Rush City, MN; 11 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren; brother, Frank (Carmin) Alexander, Minnetonka; daughter-in-law, Barbara Alexander, Chandler, AZ; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A special Thank You to the staff of the hospice unit at Phoenix, AZ VA, NHCU, the many other residents that we made friends with and Delores who made sure I had a least a good breakfast. They all were very caring and supportive during Milo's battle with cancer. Mass of Christian burial was held Tuesday at Church of St. Joseph, St. Hopkins. Private interment.
