Lucille Brask

Lucille A. (Fisk) Brask went to be with her Lord on December 26, 2023, 2 ½ months from her 100th birthday. Lucille was born March 4, 1924 to Lawrence W. and Zatha Belle Fisk at a farm in rural Grantsburg, Wisconsin. She was the oldest of four children. Lucille accepted Jesus as her Savior at age 11 and was baptized and joined Trade Lake Baptist church in 1938. Lucille loved Jesus all of her life. After graduating from Frederic High School, Lucille attended nursing school at Bethel College. On February 23, 1946 she married Harland Brask; soon after Harland left for the Army. While her new husband served in occupied Japan, Lucille lived and worked in Pullman, Washington. When Harland returned from Japan, the couple moved to Saint Paul, Minnesota. In the years following they raised six children. During the 1950s the family lived on a farm in Wisconsin. In the 1960s the family lived in the Twin Cities. In the 1970’s Lucille and Harland moved to Isanti and then Cambridge where they were active at First Baptist Church. After Harland died, Lucille lived in Cambridge until she moved to senior living in Blaine and then Coon Rapids Lucille and Harland were involved in the GIGH – G.I. Gospel Hour - (now SEND International) from its earliest inception after World War II. They participated in prayer groups and travelled to conferences around the country. In their retirement years, Lucille and Harland spent sixteen winters in Florida, Arizona, New Mexico and California. The couple traveled all across the US and made friends at churches in every city in which they stopped. Lucille was always the driver and proud of the many thousands of miles she drove. Lucille devoted her life to her family and her church. She appreciated nature and enjoyed making dolls, cakes of all kinds, gifts, and quilts, and she crocheted blankets for her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. At age 90, Lucille joined Facebook and stayed up-to-date with family and friends and even made new friends. From childhood, Lucille loved baseball and became an avid Twins fan. Birthdays were very important and Lucille was looking forward to her 100th in March. She’ll be celebrating that as her first birthday in heaven! Park River Estates and Allina Hospice were vital in Lucille’s final months. She was loved and well cared for. Lucille was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harland; her sister, Mabel Kimmes; brother, LeRoy Fisk; granddaughter, Rachel Joy Brask; and grandson, Erick Brask. She is survived by her sister, Irene Peterson; her six children: Carlene Jensen; Judy (Randy) Jarboe; JoAnne (Brian) Dean; Rollin (Michelle) Brask; Randy Brask; and Rob (Jodi) Brask; 15 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews and their families. Celebration of Life service will be at First Baptist Church, 304 Main Street S, Cambridge, Minnesota 55008 on Friday, January 5, 2024. Visitation at 10:00 am, Service at 11:00 am.
