Lorraine Brown

Brown, Lorraine "Go out to meet her, every angel of the Lord. Take her soul and offer it in the sight of God's majesty." Beloved wife, mother and grandmother, age 92, of St. Louis Park, formerly of Chicago, Illinois, died on Nov. 15, 2010 from complications of a heart attack and osteoporosis. Preceded in death by husband, William Francis. Dearest mother of Marlene (John), Douglas (Maria) and Gail (David); Loving grandmother of Laura, Brandon, Sofia, Heather and Danny. Survived by many nieces, nephews and loving friends. Preceded in death by parents, Laura and Adolph Bergmann, and beloved sister, Elaine Eber. Lorraine worked as an executive secretary at United Wallpaper Co. in Chicago at the famed Merchandise Mart. A resident of Minneapolis area since 1955, she and husband Bill bought a home in St. Louis Park in 1956. She was a devoted Catholic and spent many hours in volunteer service to Most Holy Trinity Church as an altar volunteer, and treasurer/member of the women's club and gave many hours of her time for adoration of the Blessed Sacrament. She had countless happy times with her friends of the Minnekahda Oaks Sewing Club, and was always ready to help her neighbors and friends. Lorraine was known for her keen sense of humor and her thoughtfulness, and was always beautifully dressed and coifed for every occasion. She and husband Bill travelled extensively, and volunteered for Meals on Wheels. Lorraine was a wonderful cook and baker, known by her family for her birthday cakes with surprise decorations, and her fabulous pies. She very much enjoyed her last years at St. Therese Southwest Assisted Living in Hopkins and her wonderful friends there. Most of all, she was best friend to her 3 children, devoted to her grandchildren, and truly cherished all of her family and friends.
