Julianne Johnson

Julianne F. Johnson (nee Bins), age 42, of Eden Prairie, at peace after her courageous and dignified battle with breast cancer. She was at home, surrounded by her loving family. She will be deeply missed by her husband, Doug; the children she adored, daughter Aly, and son Andy; her loving parents, Jerry & Marilyn Bins, of Wausau, WI; grandmother, Harriet A. (Mrs. Walter) Fabry, of Green Bay, WI; and brothers, David and Daniel, also of Wausau. Julie cherished her extended family, Uncle Donald Bins, of DePere WI; and Uncle Mike & Aunt Carol (Rob, Mike & Scott) Fabry, of Green Bay; In-laws: Roger & Beverly Johnson, of Crystal, MN; Grandma (GG) Doris VanTassel, of Watertown, MN; Rick & Cathy (Bobby, Christie) Carlson of Minnetonka, MN; Tom and Jill Johnson, of Duluth, MN. Born in Green Bay, WI, Julie excelled in her favorite sport of swimming; graduated with honors from Newman HS in Wausau and UW-Eau Claire, where she was a collegiate All-American, National Champion swimmer, and was later inducted into both the HS and College Halls of Fame. Julie met Doug in 1984, and they were married in 1987. The 15-year marriage produced two wonderful children who Julie adored. Her most precious moments were times spent at family cabins and vacation homes in Wisconsin and Florida. Julie had a successful career with Cargill holding various positions, most recently as a systems analyst. Julie has forever left her mark on family, friends, and neighbors. Her strength, spirit, dignity and courage helped carry her and her family through the 5-year battle with breast cancer. Julie never burdened anyone with her illness; she always put the needs of others ahead of her own. Julie's attitude and view on life will forever inspire all she touched. Julie's family would like to thank all the family and friends who gave such wonderful care, the entire staff at the Park Nicollet Oncology Clinic, her Cancer support Group at Park Nicollet, Methodist Hospital Hospice and to Cargill for their unending support. Visitation 4-7 PM Sunday at the Eden Prairie Chapel of Washburn-McReavy, 7625 Mitchell Road, Eden Prairie and one-hour prior to service at church. Funeral service 10:30 AM Monday, at St. Hubert Catholic Community, 8201 Main Street, Chanhassen. Private interment following services. Memorials to family preferred in lieu of flowers.
