It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of David Gonzalez, 38, a beloved son and husband, dedicated neonatologist, and cherished friend, who left this world on December 7th, 2024. David's radiant smile and infectious laughter brightened the lives of everyone who knew him. Born on October 20th, 1986, in Barinas, Venezuela, David approached life with a passion that was evident in both his professional and personal endeavors. As a neonatologist, he devoted his life to caring for the tiniest patients, bringing hope and healing to countless families. David had a passion for teaching and nurturing future generations of healthcare workers, which has left an indelible mark on the medical community. His compassion and expertise made a profound impact on the lives he touched, and he will be dearly missed by his colleagues. Outside of his medical career, David was a true lover of the arts. He found joy in music, most notably, Taylor Swift, and often sang robustly along at concerts he attended. He delighted in the magic of Broadway, frequently attending performances and sharing that enthusiasm with his friends and family. His love for music and theater was just one of the many ways he shared his vibrant spirit. David had an unparalleled passion for culinary delights. He had an uncanny ability to discover the best new restaurants before anyone else and enjoyed sharing his culinary adventures with friends and family. He loved to cook and was known for bringing joy-and his famous cupcakes-to the workplace, brightening everyone's day with his culinary creations. His kitchen was his sanctuary, where he expressed his creativity and love for others through food. David's enthusiasm for life went beyond the kitchen and theater. He was a friend you could count on, a person whose laughter and kindness left a lasting impression. His energy was contagious, and he had a special way of making everyone feel valued and cared for. David's home was filled with love, shared with his husband Marcin, and their beloved pets. His dog Archie, and cats Leo and Iris, brought him immense joy, and he cherished every moment spent with them. David's nurturing nature extended well beyond his profession, as he created a warm and welcoming space for all who entered his life, both humans and animals. David's kindness, humor , and unwavering positivity left an everlasting mark on all who crossed his path. He always had a smile and hug ready to greet his friends and work family. It would be remiss not to mention his impeccable fashion sense and amazingly lush hair , both of which were evident in meeting him. David is survived by his husband, Marcin Moryc; his parents, Juan Eudes and Maria Teresa; his cherished pets, Archie, Leo, and Iris; and a vast network of friends and family who will forever remember him for his warmth and generosity. In honor of David's life and legacy, a visitation will be held at Washburn-McReavy Hillside Chapel in Northeast Minneapolis, on December 19th, from 4-8pm. A funeral will be held the following morning at Lakewood Chapel, Lakewood Cemetery, Minneapolis with visitation from 9-10am and service from 10-11 am.
