Frankie Wade

Frankie Lee Wade got her wings on Monday, September 6, 2021, at age 84. She is the most stunning example of an indomitable spirit. Frankie Lee was born in Earle, Arkansas, February 25, 1937, the only child of Joleta Shankl and James Caver. In love with Willis Wade Jr., they married May 7, 1980, and have been together for 41 years. Frankie was an occupational therapy specialist assistant at Rush Medical Center, for 18 years. She worked as a nurse's aide at the University of Illinois for 15 years until she retired in 2000. Willis retired from the University of Illinois in 2011. Frankie and Willis loved to travel to visit family in California and all places warm in the winter months. They visited Canada and Mexico to round out their North America explorations. Visits to Minnesota each fall were cherished by every member of the Pigue family. A highlight of their travel was going to Hawaii in 2011, when Willis retired. Back home in Chicago, Frankie would go to the pool a couple of times a week to exercise and swim. She would talk about Hawaii to her friends, who promised they would drown her if she didn't stop. Frankie loved to shop and her favorite item was shoes! Always in style with a purse and hat to match, her shopping excursions had the couple stepping out in style. Frankie and Willis Wade Jr (Pops) are the Queen and King of family love. Frankie is survived by her husband, Willis Wade Jr., his sisters and brothers, Yolanda (William Wiggins), Navonne (James McWhorther), Daryl (Karen Michelle), Carla, Kenneth (Lena), Quincy (Shawn) and her Pigue sons Lester, Zeke, James. Daughters Shirley and Sheila are now reunited with mom. Frankie had many cherished nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great and great-great grandchildren, and friends. We are so grateful for who she was and is in the hearts of each of us. Mothers know how to give you everything you need, but you never feel ready to go ahead without her, and then her voice comes to you just when you need it. A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday September 18, at 2:00 PM, with a visitation one hour prior at Washburn McReavy, Glen Haven Chapel, 5125 West Broadway, Crystal, MN 55429
