Peterson, Edna Passed away April 2, 2008 at Banner Desert Medical Center in Mesa, Arizona. A visitation will be held on Thursday, April 10, 2008 at 4-7 PM at Washburn-McReavy Northeast Chapel, 2901 Johnson St NE, Minneapolis, MN. Funeral Services will be held Friday, April 11, 2008 at 10:30 AM at Gustavus Adolphus Lutheran Church, 1509 27th Ave NE, Minneapolis, MN with a lunch to follow. Edna Pernella Dicken was born April 7, 1916 at Thief River Falls, MN, the daughter of Charles Albert and Mabel Helsena (Skjsvold) Dicken. She was baptized November 30, 1916 and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church, Thief River Falls. She attended Knox Elementary School, Central Junior High School and Lincoln High School, all in Thief River Falls. She graduated from Lincoln in 1934 and then attended Minnesota College of Business in Minneapolis, MN. On November 23, 1946, Edna was united in marriage to Archie Peterson at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Minneapolis, MN. She was employed at Telex in St. Paul, MN as an accountant; Field Enterprises Corporation; and did sales for World Book and Telex Hearing Aid Company. Edna was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Thief River Falls, MN and American Legion Auxiliary. Edna was an active member of the PTA in Minneapolis and very involved with Girl Scouts as troop leader and service unit chairman. She received the Girl Scout "Thanks" badge, the highest award given to a volunteer, and the Silver Tray. She was very active at Gustavus Adolphus Church in Minneapolis. She liked to play bridge and had the opportunity to teach bridge through the Minneapolis Park Board. She is survived by children, Karen (husband Clinton) Bauer of Thief River Falls, MN and Sandra (husband Michael) Fischer of Mesa, AZ; 4 grandchildren, Michael, Matthew and Kimberly Bauer of Thief River Falls, MN and Patrick Fischer of Mesa, AZ; sisters, LaVonne (Harry) Comstock of Elk River, MN, and Carol (Robert) Hare of Jamesville, NY; sister-in-law, Patti Dicken of Thief River Falls, MN and many nieces and nephews. Edna was preceded in death by husband, Archie; parents; grandparents, Sara & Andrew Dicken and Ellen & Peder Skjsvold; brothers, Alvin, Charles and Vernon Dicken. Family condolences may be sent to Karen at her home or Sandra Fischer at her home.
