Douglas Bruce Lofgren July 14, 1934 - October 28, 2024 Douglas Bruce Lofgren was born on July 14th, 1934 in Jewett, MN to William and Olga Lofgren. He passed away peacefully on October 28th, 2024 surrounded with family by his side. A Celebration of his Life will be held on Tuesday, November 19th at 10am, with a Mass at 11am and a luncheon to follow all at St Stephens Catholic Church 525 School St Anoka, MN. This is the church Doug and Veronica have been members of for 61 years and raised their family in their faith. He is survived by his loving wife of 69 years Veronica. This day was chosen to celebrate them on what would have been their 69th Wedding Anniversary. Their 4 children are Mark (Charlotte), Theresa, Dana (Joe) and David. Their 10 grandchildren are Paul, Joe, Cadi Jo, James, Alyson, Bryan, Roni, Tyler, Zach, Rachel and all of their significant others. Their 10 great-grandchildren are Evelynn, Dylan, Violet, Gracen, Lukah, Jayce, Danika and 3 more great grandsons are expected to arrive in the next 2 months. Doug has been preceded in death by parents, many siblings, and In-laws all playing a significant part of his past life which he enjoyed always. Many Holidays, vacations, family picnics and family reunions were enjoyed by all. Christmas was a special time for Doug and Veronica to prepare the house starting the day after Thanksgiving decorating the tree with many lights and putting up a very extensive Christmas village for all to enjoy. Kramarczuk's Polish sausage from NE Mpls market was always a given staple as part of most of all holidays, weddings and celebrations held in the Zembal family for 7 generations. It will be served at his luncheon to keep the tradition going. Doug enlisted in the US Air Force in 1952 and had a 4 yr career serving our country. He met the love of his life, Veronica Zembal during high school years in NE Mpls. They were married on November 19th, 1955. Their first year together was spent living in Nebraska at the Lincoln AF Base. Upon returning to MN they lived in NE Mpls for awhile. They then ventured out to Coon Rapids and built their only house which they raised their family in 1963. After 60 years living in their house, the last year and a half they resided in the Elk River Senior Living facility. Doug drove truck for most of his career and was a member of the Teamsters Union. This provided them with a good life together. Doug was a proud man and let most around him know that. All that know him "know" that he had an endless gift of telling stories about most everything. Doug and Veronica had a nice long retirement to enjoy together which was well earned by both. He is missed but we will all meet again someday in Heaven. Love You
