Cassandra Floyd

Floyd, Cassandra Lee born January 9, 1967 to Thomas and Roberta Floyd in Detroit, MI passed unexpectedly March 15, 2012 at Regions Hospital in St. Paul MN. Sandra recently moved to New Richmond, WI from Minneapolis, MN where she spent most of her life. She received Christ early in life and was baptized at New Salem Baptist Church. Sandra completed her schooling in Minneapolis. Later in life she became a school bus driver and worked for First Student, which she truly enjoyed until she was injured. Sandra enjoyed fishing, singing, dancing and cooking. She was most famous for her ribs. Sandra was always smiling; her smile was so bright it made everyone smile with her. She loved making people happy, if you needed any help and she had it, you got it. She leaves to cherish many loving memories; her three sons, Kapuss and Kerry Floyd of New Richmond, WI; Kortez (Jennie) Floyd of New Hope, MN; a daughter, Rosetta Floyd of New Richmond, WI; her mother, Roberta Floyd of Hudson, WI; her father, Thomas (Sandra) Floyd of Burnsville, MN; grandfathers, Raleigh Whitson of Golden Valley, MN and John Moore of Omaha, NE; two brothers, Bruce Floyd of Rochester, MN and Scottie (Shontel) Floyd of New Hope, MN; sister, Tina Floyd of Anoka, MN; half-sister, Rashunda Davis of Dallas, TX; step-brothers, Damon Saunders of St. Paul, MN & Jermaine Saunders of Atlanta, GA; six grandchildren; 13 nieces and two nephews; a host of aunts, uncles, cousins; special friend Sheila Nelson and many other close friends. Sandra also leaves a loving companion; Thomas "Tyrone" Riley of New Richmond, WI. They shared many years together, and he will have a heart full of loving memories to cherish. Sandra was preceded in death by her grandmothers, Pollie Nichols and Mary Floyd; step-grandfather, Donald Nichols; half-sister Gaynale Floyd; close cousin, Rodney Cottrell; aunt, Dorothea Turnbull; uncles, Ronell Moore & William Floyd; and cousin, Akeem Patterson. The Floyd family wishes to express a special thanks to the doctors and nursing staff on 3-West of the St. Paul Regions Hospital for the care, kindness and patience they provided Sandra and her family during this time. Funeral Service will be held Saturday, March 24, 12PM at Monument of Faith Lutheran Church, 3978 W. Broadway Ave., Robbinsdale.
