Bruce Howard Lau

Bruce H. Lau, age 75, of Edina, surrounded by his loving family, entered into Jesus' arms on Tuesday, October 19th. Bruce was born February 26, 1946 in St. Paul, Minnesota, the son of Arthur and Eleanore Lau. Bruce graduated from Cretin High School and St. Thomas College (University of St. Thomas). Shortly after graduating from St. Thomas, Bruce met the love of his life, Mary (Muff McKasy). A year to the date that they first met, they were married. Bruce found his passion and great success as a sales and marketing executive in the food service industry for over thirty years. These jobs took Bruce and his family to several cities including Milwaukee, Minneapolis, Atlanta and Denver, where they met many lifelong friends. Following his retirement, Bruce was able to dedicate his time to another passion of his at Catalina Foothills Church in Tucson, Arizona, where he served as Director of Missions and served in Men's Ministries. Bruce and Muff loved their time in the desert southwest and cherished the many dear friends they met there. Bruce's greatest passion was his wife, Muff, his two daughters, Gretchen and Kristen, and their families. He loved to fish and spend time with them every summer in Minocqua, Wisconsin. We would be remiss if we didn't also mention Bruce's immense love for the game of baseball. His great joy was passing on his love of the game to his grandchildren. He also passed down his love of gardening to Gretchen and Kristen. They were always amazed at his ability to pick the perfect flower or plant for the garden. Wherever they lived he always had a beautiful yard, it's no wonder he won Yard of the Month once in Atlanta! Bruce will also be remembered for his love for his Savior, Jesus Christ, his family, and our great country. He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Muff; his two daughters, Gretchen (Drew) Cochrane, Kristen (Paul) Abdo; and grandchildren, Josh & Maggie Cochrane and Lillie, Oliver, & Mac Abdo. A Celebration of Life will be Saturday, October 30th at 2 p.m. at Grace Church, 9301 Eden Prairie Road, Eden Prairie, MN 55347. Please enter the church at Door #2. Reception to follow at the church.
