Brenda Ann Stusse

Brenda Stusse, 72, a long-time resident of Crystal, MN, passed away peacefully on March 16, 2024. She spent the last four months of her life living at the Villas of Robbinsdale Care Center. Brenda Ann Johnson was born on August 20, 1951, in Mankato to Marvin (dec.) and Mildred Johnson. The following year the family moved to southern California where her next three siblings were born. The family enjoyed their time in California spending the weeknights having bar-b-q's with neighbors and the weekends exploring the area and visiting places like Disneyland. The Johnson family moved back to Minnesota when Brenda was twelve years old. They resided on a cattle farm in Glenwood where the youngest of the siblings was born. While living in Glenwood, Brenda held a part-time job as a candy-striper helping to take care of elderly people. The family moved to Crystal a few years later and Brenda attended and graduated from Robbinsdale Cooper High School. Brenda married Roger Stusse in 1971, and they had two children. Brenda loved raising her kids, spending time with her family and friends, and being active. She played volleyball and softball, taught Sunday school, and worked part-time as a server at Pauline's and Baker's Square. When her kids moved on to college, Brenda started working full-time as an accountant at National Salon Resources. She worked at National for over 20 years and had many good friends at the company and also at the Crystal VFW. When her kids had their own families, Brenda was always there helping and sharing her love. She was a very generous person and cherished her five grandkids. She also loved her stepdaughter, Renee, and her family. Brenda enjoyed traveling and spending any time she could with her two sisters and mom. They never let a birthday go by without celebrating one another. Brenda also had many close friends, including Robbin and Jeri, who were with her in the end. Brenda will forever be remembered for her faith in Jesus Christ, her unyielding commitment to what she believed was right and good, her family and friends, her smile, her no-nonsense attitude, and the way in which she always looked out for everyone else - no matter who they were. Brenda is preceded in death by her father Marvin, sister Elaine, grandson Jamie, and nephew Trevor. She is survived by her Mother Mildred, Sister Carol, Brother Clayton (Julee), Brother Glenn (Kris), and her children Jon (Robbin), Michelle (Rob), and stepdaughter Renee (Rory); grandchildren Ashley, Madison, Aaron, Noah, and Adeline; as well as Roger, nieces, nephews, cousins, close friends, and others.
